Ministry descriptions and deacons for Bartlett Woods

Ministry: Adult Education
Deacon: Paul Holt
This ministry is responsible for planning the course of study for the adult classes, selecting teachers for the adult classes and maintaining records as to the courses taught and teachers utilized each quarter. This ministry works in close coordination with the elders.

Ministry: Advertising/ Public Relations
Deacon: Max Wallace
This ministry is responsible for providing articles to the local newspapers concerning activities of the Bartlett Woods church and to suggest areas of promoting good relations within the local area. This ministry is also responsible for advertising and promoting activities within the congregation.

Ministry: AGAPE
Deacon: Todd Ruston
This ministry will work to organize special AGAPE needs such as clothing for foster children, working on Jericho houses, promoting fund raising and other special AGAPE activities.

Ministry: Benevolence
Deacon: Allen Wagner
This ministry provides assistance to people, inside and outside of our church family, through meals on wheels and numerous types of assistance.

Ministry: Building
Deacon: Eric Himelrick
This ministry is responsible for the maintenance of our building. This ministry is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and general appearance of our building.

Ministry: Extended Services
Deacon: Arthur McNatt
This ministry provides the Lord’s Supper and audio cassettes of the morning services to shut-ins and those in local hospitals.

Ministry: Family Care Groups
Deacon: Russ Caughron
This ministry is responsible for providing the care group leaders with information to be presented at the monthly meetings. This ministry is also to provide suggestions to care groups concerning worthy projects and to maintain records of care group activities and problems.

Ministry: Family Life
Deacon: David Willoughby
This ministry is responsible for the planning and coordinating of family life activities at the Bartlett Woods congregation.

Ministry: Greeters
Deacon: Morris Grimmitt
This ministry is responsible for recruiting, training, and assigning volunteer greeters at the main entrances at the Bartlett Woods services.

Ministry: Grounds
Deacon: David Wilson
This ministry is responsible for the maintenance of our grounds. This ministry is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and general appearance of our grounds.

Ministry: Involvement
Deacon: Glenn Miller
This ministry is responsible for promoting an increase in member involvement in the activities of the church, to increase time spent on church activities, to develop classes on recognizing and utilizing talents. The Involvement ministry will also continue the “Make a Difference” Program on Wednesday nights.

Ministry: Kitchen
Deacon: Joe Perdue
This ministry maintains and monitors the Church Kitchen and coordinates special meals such as the bi-monthly Men’s Prayer Breakfast.

Ministry: Lads to Leaders
Deacon: Wiley Street
This ministry promotes the Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes Program within the Bartlett Woods Congregation.

Ministry: Missions
Deacon: Ed Sills
This ministry maintains contact with our present missionaries, keeps the congregation informed about the progress of our mission efforts and recommends new mission efforts.

Ministry: Music
Deacon: Carl Plumlee
This ministry provides song leaders for the congregation, and special singing groups such as “The Bartlett Woods Singers” for various occasions.

Ministry: New Auditorium
Deacon: Sam Lipe
This ministry will be responsible for the planning for the construction of our new auditorium.

Ministry: Nursery
Deacon: Chuck Creamer
This ministry staffs the nursery for all services and special activities.

Ministry: Outreach
Deacon: Greg Artz
This ministry works to promote Bartlett Woods to the surrounding community to teach them about the congregation and the church of Christ.

Ministry: Prayer
Deacon: Mike Fortner
This ministry is responsible for promoting the prayer life at the Bartlett Woods congregation and conducting regular scheduled men’s prayer breakfasts.

Ministry: Primary Education
Deacon: Jamie Chandler
This ministry is responsible for overseeing the education department: 2 years old to 6th grade. This ministry is also responsible for planning and supervising the Vacation Bible School each summer.

Ministry: Security
Deacon: Gary Walls
This ministry is in charge of security measures for our buildings and grounds including such things as monitoring parking areas, opening and closing the building.

Ministry: Senior Care
Deacon: Mike Pratt
This ministry coordinates the activities of the Senior Citizens at our congregation.

Ministry: Transportation
Deacon: Billy Tull
This ministry is responsible for the maintenance of the church owned vehicles. This ministry is also responsible for supplying drivers for providing transportation for the elderly to the regularly scheduled services.

Ministry: Vacation Bible School
Deacon: Chris Anschultz
This ministry is responsible for planning and supervising the Vacation Bible School each summer.

Ministry: Young Professionals
Deacon: Chuck Creamer
This ministry develops Bible studies, social events, fellowships, retreats and informal gathering times to provide opportunities for encouragement and establishing relationships with God and each other for the young professionals of our congregation.

Ministry: Youth
Deacon: John Sills
This ministry is in charge of all youth activities. John works very closely with Stan Phipps, our youth minister, to develop a well rounded youth program.
