Sunday Night

WE ARE OFFERING A NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR WORSHIP & CONNECTION FOR ALL AGES ON SUNDAY NIGHTS.

2023 CALENDAR OF SUNDAY NIGHT WORSHIP & POST-WORSHIP ACTIVITIES

Standard time format:
-4:30-5:30- optional, bring-your-own-food fellowship time (come and go as you please)
-5:30- worship and discussion groups
-post-worship- optional activity, no timeframe, stay if you want and as long as you want- typically no later than 7:00-7:30 “call it a night” to lock up time

LS= Lifestage month (discussion groups and post-worship activities will be designed to promote stage-of-life connection)

MG= Multigenerational month (discussion groups and post-worship activities will be designed to promote intergenerational connection)

Unless otherwise noted, worship will consist of a beginning welcome, songs, Scripture, and prayer (all together) before breaking into discussion groups.

“Casual Fun” simply means there will be no organized activity. Rather, board games and the like will simply be provided and hangout/mingling time will be open.

Some less-than-obvious activity explanations are at the end.

SOME ACTIVITY EXPLANATIONS:

Connect & Share: Members will have been surveyed for skills or things they would be willing to share with a group. A couple of these will be available to attend and learn.

Thanksgiving Speed Sharing: similar to speed-dating, but sharing stories about past Thanksgiving memories or things we are thankful for, etc.

Create-and-Connect: pair up and do a creation activity together while having a conversation with a prepared list of questions for each other. This will range from doing a simple puzzle, coloring, drawing, holiday-specific, etc.

Warm and Fuzzies: with a Valentine’s flair, each person will decorate or write their name on an envelope and attach it with a clothespin to a line of the wall. Every person will also draw a number coming in and write that number on their envelope. When the activity begins, they will draw a number from a separate bowl and write a warm and fuzzy note or card to put in that person’s envelope. People will also be free to write as many as they want for different people.

Breakout Circles Show & Tell: a couple of weeks beforehand, we will advertise to bring an item that has a story attached or that is important to you (kids included!). We will break out into smaller circles where people will take turns going around the circle and sharing.

This or That; I Have, I’ve Never; I Like, I Don’t Like: smaller groups will break into circles. Someone will have a prepared sheet of items to list. These will be either “this or that” (Coke or Pepsi), “I have” or “I’ve never” statements, or “I like” and “I don’t like” statements. Groups will either stand up or sit down for each item, raise hands or don’t for each item, or stand in the middle and walk to either side of the space for each item on the list, depending on the nature of the groups.
